Ransom Ackerman - Phat Beat 4U House, Deep House, Tech House, Minimal Tech and Techno Growing up with a love for music of many genres from an early age, Ransom Ackerman began creating mixed tapes during High School, and became a Radio DJ and Production Manager at a college radio station in the early 1980’s. Fast forward to the early 2000’s, he began working on music production, but as technology advanced he became more interested in performance, the entertainment of others and getting people out on the dancefloor. Around 2010, Ran was splitting his performance time and energy between controllerism and DJing, when technology took a creative turn with controllers and software that would combine mixing tracks with loops and samples as well as numerous filters, and later incorporating step sequencers. Ran decided DJing was the way to go and began mixing and blending tracks, adding loops, samples and percussion to create mixes that take listeners on a sonic journey with infectious grooves driving the sound and has become his main creative outlet of choice. Working as both a club and mobile DJ allows Ran to entertain at a variety of venues, as well as bring the club to the audience with the sound and lighting to turn almost anyplace into a dance floor, creating a venue to share the music that he loves with others. Ran is currently a Resident DJ at House Nation Toronto Radio as well as being a former Resident DJ at Redefine Radio in Gibraltar
